Heiner Müller wrote plays that challenge us to find new ways of performing. Written in East Germany in 1977, The Hamletmachine is his response to Shakespeare’s Hamlet. This production invites you to join in the interpretation of Heiner Müller’s play. Those performing will be united by a simple movement sequence, while repeating and interpreting the words of the play that they can hear through their headphones. Non-performing audience members will be able to walk amongst the performers and listen to individual fragments of the narrative, or they can head up into the gallery above and watch the piece as a whole.
This performance will take place in the Crush Hall between 12pm – 2pm and 4pm – 6pm.
