A screening of AMATA VALE, a cinematic-quality experimental short film produced by Reflekta Films – a group of young people aged 13-18, inspired by Sir John Soane’s Museum in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. The event includes a showing of their behind-the-scenes film as well as a Q&A with the filmmakers.
From June to August 2018, the group learnt from professional filmmakers at 1A Arts Holborn Community Association and worked collectively to plan, shoot and edit their film. They reflected on Sir John Soane as an architect, collector and curator, in particular drawing on his familial relationships.
Young people filmed inside the museum, as well as in local area such as John Soane’s Mauseleum in St Pancras Gardens, experiencing all the key roles required on a professional film shoot as well as having the opportunity to gain their Arts Awards.
The Summer Film Project is funded by BBC Children in Need and John Lyon’s Charity.
