Bloomsbury Festival returns from 17 – 21 October with an inspiring programme of arts, science, literature, discussions and reflections, that shines a light on the radical imaginations, institutions and residents of contemporary Bloomsbury. The 2018 Festival theme is Activists and Architects of Change, inspired by the centenary of women’s right to vote for the first time, and celebrating everyday activists alongside world-changers.

Highlight’s of this year’s festival will include our annual night-time street party, Roll Up Store Street, celebrating the 250th anniversary of circus; a Suffragette Scavenger Hunt, workshops, talks and performances celebrating the women who fought for the right to vote; Senate Women, a sonic installation, and Daylighting, a collaborative artwork in the form of a newspaper highlighting the leading role women take in today’s society; our weekend festival hubs including a focus on Activism at UCL, Conway Hall’s Rights of Woman hub and fun for all the family at our Sunday Funday on Brunswick Square.

We are delighted to announce the advance programme is now on sale.

We hope you’ll enjoy browsing the programme, planning your festival week and booking your tickets – there’s certainly something for everyone. The second part of the programme including more headline events, Bloomsbury Festival productions and new commissions will be announced soon.
