Three men reflect upon the gay identity and community on the island of Jersey. During their discussions they consider the safe spaces available to islanders, coming out, dating apps and the support they have received and sometimes desperately needed. A touching and at times hilarious examination of contemporary gay culture.
The show’s writer, Oliver Gaynor has combined verbatim interviews from people on the island and original writing to create a performance that explores issues that are not only relatable to those familiar with the island, but to anyone who has felt that they don’t fit into a community.
Following an overwhelmingly successful performance at RADA, Glad to be Gay comes to Bloomsbury.
