Calling all young creatives in Camden aged 16-25!

News

Are you interested in visual art, music, podcasting, or festivals?
Are you coming to the end of school, college, or university and thinking about what to do next?
If so and you live or study in Camden, we might just have the opportunity for you.

Bloomsbury Festival is offering the opportunity for 6 young people in Camden to take part in The Springboard Traineeship.

Trainees will be offered 100 hours of paid training sessions in radio broadcasting, outdoor visual arts, podcasting, filming, writing, event management, exhibition curation and more.

This is an exciting opportunity to build practical creative skills, gain first-hand experience of an annual Festival, and co-create your own artistic exhibition for Bloomsbury Festival 2024 responding to the theme Human.Kind.

When: The Springboard Traineeship will run from September – October 2024, with sessions every Thursday and Friday (daytime), and occasional Wednesday early evening sessions. Trainees will be invited to an introductory session on Wednesday 3 July.

Who is it for? This opportunity is specifically for young people aged 16-25 who are living, studying, or recently studied in Camden. To be eligible for this opportunity, you must not be in full-time education in September and October 2024. You do not need to have practical experience in creative fields to apply. We are particularly encouraging young people who have faced barriers to participating in arts programmes to apply.

Pay: Sessions will be paid at £13.15 per hour ( the London Living Wage) to cover your expenses and time. The programme offers 100 paid hours over the project period (a maximum total of £1,315 across the project) with additional voluntary artistic and creative activity.

To find out more about the Traineeship, including how to apply, please read our Applicant Information Document here.

Application deadline: 10am on Monday 17 June

The Springboard Traineeship is delivered in partnership with Westminster Kingsway College and links with numerous artists, local museums, and organisations.
