Just Turn Up26 UCL Firsts is a creative contribution of writers’ organisation 26 in collaboration with University College London for Bloomsbury Festival 2026.

26 students from across all disciplines at UCL are working with 26 professional writers from the network '26' to explore one of UCL’s “firsts” – from being the first university in London and the first to welcome women to higher education alongside men, to revolutionary research breakthroughs such as the first use of anaesthetic in Europe and the first discovery of water on an exoplanet.
