Performance poetry, companionship, and grassroots insights from contemporary theatre arts community advocates from under-represented communities. Inspired by The Bloomsbury Group, we offer a new cultural space to explore the ‘London’ experience.

Between The City And Me: A Panel of Grassroots Voices is a discussion amongst arts community advocates. We'll explore their critical engagements with the 'London' experience through creative advocacy.

Our panel is inspired by the history of The Bloomsbury Group - a circle of writers, artists and intellectuals, led by sisters Virginia Woolf and Vanessa Bell, who came together at 46 Gordon Square to interrogate the pertinent issues of their time. With a 21st century twist, we’re shifting the enquiries from the status of art and the British empire, to social inequality, cultural division and arts as activism.

We invite you to meet and engage with pioneering artists who consistently collaborate with, and advocate for, under-represented communities on the grassroots level. Our panellists will share their paths into the industry, explore what inspires their commitments to inclusivity, and reflect upon the new legacies of London’s performing arts scene.

Join us for an evening of performances, music, companionship and connection as we celebrate the power of solidarity amongst diverse communities. For art-lovers, creatives and community advocates; come through, share good vibes, and be inspired by the source material of future generations.
