Think you know Bloomsbury? Prove it at Culture Quest’s pub quiz at The Lady Ottoline! From local radicals to tangled romances, test your neighbourhood knowledge

Think you know London’s brainiest borough? We embrace the cliché that the brilliant Bloomsbury Set "lived in squares and loved in triangles," but our trivia dives deeper than their tangled romances. Discover how economist Maynard Keynes made fortunes betting on currencies from his (or was it Duncan Grant's?!) bed, how biographer Lytton Strachey revolutionised historical prose, and how artists Vanessa Bell (& Grant) painted every single wall and piece of furniture in their home.

We also test your knowledge of the local geography's radical cross-cultural threads. How does Tavistock Square link Indian anti-colonialism with local literature? You'll find out via its statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Virginia Woolf. Challenging you on the ultimate historic irony sitting in the corner of Gordon Square is the bust of Noor Inayat Khan: a Sufi princess who died spying for Britain in France, despite descending from the Sultan of Mysore who famously slaughtered invading British colonial armies in India (V&A's Tipoo Tiger anyone?). Finally, we quiz you on Woburn Square’s three-faced Green Man sculpture, inspired by Woolf's novel The Waves: "My roots go down to the depths of the world."

For the competitive who want a leg up, keep your eyes peeled as you explore: the answers to many of the Culture Quiz questions can be found on the historical information boards and statues within the squares, the blue plaques on surrounding buildings, and even the plaques on individual trees.
