Just Turn UpThis flute and piano recital traces the seven days of creation told in the ancient stories of Genesis.
Emerging contemporary music specialists and Royal College of Music alumni, flautist Tilly Coulton and pianist Sophia Lim present a recital that traces the seven days of creation as told in Genesis, pairing each day with a short contemporary work that reflects its character, energy, and sense of emergence. While rooted in ancient narrative, the programme is not about religious belief, but about creation in a broader sense: the shaping of sound, the unfolding of ideas, and a celebration of the natural world and the beauty it has to offer. The programme will include pieces by Sofia Gubaidulina, Gyorgi Ligeti, David Fennesy, Olivier Messiaen, and more.
