Set in a theatre dressing room in 1935, Mrs Patrick Campbell looks back on her extraordinary life.
Not Bloody Likely by Neil Titley is a solo portrayal of one of the legendary stars of Victorian Theatre, Mrs Patrick Campbell, the original Eliza Doolittle of GB Shaw's Pygmalion.
Audiences are transported to a theatre dressing room in 1935 as 'Mrs Pat' as she was known, reminisces on her rather notorious, at times scandalous life with her unique blend of sharp insight, scathing wit and honest reflection. She candidly shares details of her childhood, her ascent into stardom, her successes and failures, her relationships, her loves, her losses and personal tragedies.
Mrs Pat had a reputation for being driven, demanding and difficult but she was also passionate, generous of spirit, full of life and highly amusing. Alexis Leighton brings Mrs Pat vividly to life in a tale worth the telling.
Underscored by off-stage piano, this hour long performance will entertain, inform and amuse
