Re-Tension: The Work of Holding is an exploration of the power of textile to evoke mood, place and memory. It asks the questions ... What holds?  What pulls?

Like breathing, stitching is often unseen and unthought about but here the invisible is made visible again. In so doing Re-Tension investigates contemporary concerns of belonging, identity and sustainability at both a societal and personal level. A variety of techniques used by the artists, including print, stitch weave and fibre manipulation, demonstrate the ways textiles can foster unique and imaginative perspectives. It holds a mirror to the significance of textiles in our society and how ubiquitous materials have the capacity to challenge and transform our thinking.

Two workshops run alongside the No Working Title art collective's exhibition Re-Tension exploring the power of textiles.

Drop-in Weaving Workshop with Jo Cooper on Friday 23rd October at 1-4pm.

Drop-in and stitch with Mei Lock on Friday 30th October at 1-4pm.
