An audiovisual installation blending optical illusion, live 3D projection, and prepared piano into a mysterious journey beyond reality and imagination.

Step into The Portal — an audiovisual experience where sound, light, and illusion converge to challenge perception and create a single, aesthetic whole. Created by Zhiyan Cai and Cheslav Singh, The Portal is a groundbreaking performance-installation that dissolves the boundaries between music, visual art, and spatial design.

At the heart of the experience is a prepared piano transformed through a 5-channel looping system, where live performances are layered, distorted, and reconstructed into evolving sonic landscapes. This composition is paired with meticulously mapped 3D projections and a large-scale optical illusion that responds dynamically to the performance in real time.

More than a concert or exhibition, The Portal is a living dialogue between technology and human expression — a powerful demonstration of what emerges when artistic disciplines collide. Audiences are invited into a shifting environment where visuals and experimental soundscapes create a deeply atmospheric journey beyond the ordinary.

Bold, experimental, and unforgettable, The Portal offers a glimpse into the future of interdisciplinary art and the limitless creative potential of collaborative innovation.
