Is a perambulating woman a woman with a pram? No! The Victorian Age is celebrated as a period of male feats but many women were not content pushing a pram. They travelled, revealed and inspired. The British Museum became a stage, its exhibits their props, the public an audience for their tours.
This dance-theatre event follows archaeologist Helen Tirard and classicist Jane Ellen Harrison on their journeys. You know of Ulysses. Now meet our Ulyssa. The event incorporates movement, text and music suitable for all ages.
