This collective worldbuilding workshop will open with a deep listening exercise on watery and tactile soundscapes, supported with small texts from Hydrofeminist theory. We will dive into the imaginative, theoretical and embodied implications of identifying with a body of water and/or waters of the body. This way, participants will be invited to discover a new way of thinking about their nonhuman interactions, kinship, and time. They will complete small tasks and explore new ways of connecting one another in a speculative reality they are creating, via question prompts, performative play and group discussions.
Buket Yenidogan is a Turkish experimental multi-media artist, curator and academician who is exploring posthuman kinship through speculative mythology, art and technology. Expanding in various media from interactive art installations, to performance art, moving image, sound art and spoken-word, her practice revolves around a multimedia worldbuilding, exploring the themes of immigration, primordial ancestry, and more-than-human futures.
