A programme by the New Light Duo, performing original cello-harp duo works by Korean composer Isang Yun’s Duo for Cello and Harp, and Jeffrey Ryan’s Dvandva.

As a duo, the idea of “Dvandva” (meaning “pair” in Sanskrit) was very interesting and we constructed the programme only with two pieces: one from the East and one from the West based on the idea. While Isang Yun’s Duo explores harmonies and colours, Jeffrey Ryan’s Dvandva is discussion about thoughts and nature, including Thought and Desire, Moon and Stars, Past and Future, and Knowledge and Action, as if an exploration of the development of human thought, and how we grow spiritually.
