St George’s was the spiritual home of William Brockedon (1787-1854), who took elephants across the Alps to find the route Hannibal took. Come and try your hand at sketching, medicine-making and pass-finding – as well as some bouncing on our indoor castle, fort St George’s.
Short talks on the hour and half-hour, refreshments and toilets available.
This event is part of the Big Bookfair Bonanza, which launches on Saturday 18 October and continues for the following two weeks – open Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays. Every pound raised will help to restore this historic building. Please donate your unwanted books the week before and come and grab yourself a booky bargain or three the week of the festival!
