Bridge: Fulham Railway
Title: City Rain
Writer: Alex Ruby
Artist: 13 Souls Graphic Design
The work: A short audio-visual ‘film noir’, with a matching film poster for auction, A2 (42 x 59.4cm), printed on top quality 200gsm satin stock, to fit an A1 frame with border, ‘written’ by Alex Ruby, created by 13 Souls Graphic Design, supported by AI.
Alex writes: When I visited Fulham Railway bridge, I thought walking the platform, studying the stairs, going underneath the bridge to where it meets the water would be enough. But then I went to the tiny café opposite the station, and met the man who knew it all. He’d known that bridge for years. The tales he told with a richness, sharing the context the bridge runs through. What struck me most was the story of a gangster, and I knew what I wrote had to be ‘film noir’. I’m lucky enough to know a graphic designer who collects film posters, so I asked whether he’d help in the name of 26, and a good cause.
