Join us on Alfred Place Gardens and Store St as we celebrate the opening of the Bloomsbury Festival 2022. Enjoy Global Street Food through the afternoon and evening along Store St and celebrate as it gets dark with entertainment, Zen Garden, arts and environmental activities.
12noon – 9pm GLOBAL STREET FOOD MARKET
A curated market of foods from around the globe. Presented by Street Food Markets, a professional street food team of motivated creatives with a passion for food and events. We bring the tastes of the world to urban spaces with pop-up street food entrepreneurs and chefs. Come taste the world in person.
6.30pm – 9pm GLOBAL GARDEN PARTY
A takeover of Alfred Place Gardens and Store St with entertainment and activities from:
The Zen Zone including Mind, Movement and Creative activities with a sensory garden zone offering guided meditation, breathwork & sound healing, yoga, movement, dance, craft and interactive sensory experiences including aromatherapy. Lighting for the Zen Zone will be powered with hydrogen cells from UCL Department of Chemistry
Impact Dance specialises in Hip-Hop Theatre, Street Dance and Youth Development. The festival is delighted to welcome these outstanding dancers, now our near neighbours in Shaftesbury Avenue, to perform at our Global Garden Party
Asian Dance with Arunima Kumar Dance and others – Bloomsbury Festival regulars bring dancers of all ages to celebrate the festival opening.
The Trans-Siberian March Band a London-based Balkan music band. They play the music of the Balkans, and also Russian, Turkish and Klezmer tunes.
A Language of Shapes – light projection on Keppel Street from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine with Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Performance Poetry and Spoken Word in shops and buildings along the street.
Camden Tour Guides – Night Air of the Squares. Camden Tour Guides will be offering free guided walks of Bloomsbury starting from South Crescent on Store Street as part of our festival opening. (Duration approx. 50 mins)
