13 writers from 26 are collaborating with 13 writers from the Barbican Young Poets, led by Jacob Sam-La Rose to write poems on the theme Human.Kind. The poems demonstrate the power of people coming together to explore the potential of creative collaboration. Each pair has written a poem together, and they have also written an essay to describe the process. These essays are being posted daily from 30th September in the lead-up to the festival and can be read here.

Artists from The Lettering Arts Trust will then interpret extracts from the poems produced in the form of calligraphy, stone or wood carving, craft typography.
