Join Dev Patel for an authentic and decorative embroidery workshop, following the historically rich practice of traditional South Asian artisans.

This hands-on workshop is perfect for all skill ranges, and is ideal for anyone eager to learn more about traditional South Asian embroidery. Get ready to be immersed in a friendly and supportive environment, whilst learning more about culture and community.

The workshop is led by experienced instructor and trained embroiderer, Dev Patel, who will guide you through the essentials of South Asian decorative embroidery, including stitches, techniques, and tips. The workshop is an hour long, and will involve sitting around a traditional Indian embroidery frame, just as a distinguished South Asian artisan would.

Joining this workshop will give you a chance to unwind, collaborate with others, or just have a natter (all while stitching!) Whether you want to work independently or as a group, you will get the chance to learn a new skill in a fun and creative environment. All materials and supplies will be provided, including needles, threads, and most excitingly, upcycled jewellery. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and creativity!

Please note, only 8 slots are available in each one hour session – this event takes place in the City Lit Cafe.
