Event Details

An hour long walking tour of the historic Rugby Estate and surrounding areas, exploring famous residents and connections with the Bloomsbury Set.

Rugby School was founded in 1567 by Lawrence Sheriff, a Rugby born grocer and purveyor of spices to Queen Elizabeth I. On his death, Lawrence Sheriff left provision for the foundation of Rugby School in the form of an 8 acre pasture of land in Bloomsbury.

200 years later, Rugby Estate is a rarity, snuggly nestled in the concrete metropolis of London. Join us to learn more about the area on this free walking tour.
