We are thrilled to announce that The Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer QC, MP has agreed to become a patron of Bloomsbury Festival.
Labour Member of Parliament since 2015 for Holborn and St Pancras, in which Bloomsbury is situated, Keir is also Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. Previously he was a human rights lawyer, and served as Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service from 2008 -2013.
Bloomsbury Festival has a small circle of Patrons who are supportive of its aims, vision and creative output. Keir Starmer joins two other distinguished Bloomsbury Festival patrons; Her Grace, The Duchess of Bedford and Professor Michael Arthur, President and Provost of UCL
Keir Starmer commented on his appointment:
