DAY 6: Suzie Inman – Wednesday 21 October 2020

Found words

Everyone has a secret
A story they’ve never told
What’s yours?

Maypole dancing, Anne abseiling. Wonder!
Hideout in the Hell hole.
A radical and indomitable spirit –
Curiosity and hope for connectivity.

What we name and what we see;
Supposed social dregs.
The city as a space of encounter.
The love of my life forever.

A story they’ve never told
What’s yours?

Desirable, chic and shiny?
A grand excuse for a gin-soaked party?
Or a telepathic phantasm of pain.
The loneliest person on the planet.

40 footsteps where no grasses grow,
Occult pathways into the heart of Bloomsbury,
Gothic intrigues and Victorian ghosts.
Why is healing so long?

What’s yours?

Lines of origin. A crazy flower.
A stupid bee who finds London magical.
The Jarvis Cocker lookalike.
Walking in the park and feeling so damn free.

I like the idea of being the sort of woman who likes oysters,
A village-like community with an inner-city edge.
It is a surprising new world for me –
I am the history of this kingdom.

Everyone has a secret
A story they’ve never told.
What’s yours?
