For this year’s festival, award-winning writers’ group 26 took its cue from the dictionary definition of breathe. This is ‘from in + spirare’. So inspiration is closely related to breath – and perhaps the simplest definition of the creative process is ‘inspiration leading to expression’.
They wrote about things that inspire them. These could be verbal, visual, musical, cultural, or sensory in any way. And each writer paired up with an artist or created their own visual response.
